TensorWave Secures $43M SAFE Funding

software

Nevada-based TensorWave has secured $43 million in a SAFE funding round – or a “Simple Agreement for Future Equity”. Startups use SAFEs to receive funding without determining a valuation or issuing equity immediately.

The cutting-edge cloud platform and AI startup has been fighting to break NVIDIA’s control over the AI industry by building alternative solutions that rival both performance and price. The SAFE funding will enable TensorWave to increase its data center capacity by deploying thousands of AMD Instinct MI300X GPUs. The company will also expand its team and develop its new inference platform.

TensorWave aims to meet the increasing demands in the global AI market, projected to soar from $196.63 billion in 2023 to $1.81 trillion by 2030. With their cloud service, TensorWave provides essential infrastructure for future AI applications.

TensorWave CEO Darrick Horton noted the importance of this funding for scaling operations, stating, “This funding allows us to significantly scale our team and deploy thousands of AMD Instinct AI accelerators to empower the startups and enterprises shaping our technological future.”

Alaska Airlines and UP.Labs Launch First Startup

April 23 2018 airport

Odysee, a software platform, is the flagship startup launched by UP.Labs in partnership with Alaska Airlines in 2023. The startup launched with $5 million in seed funding led by UP.Partners.

The startup is leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize flight schedules. The company is able to run hundreds of simulations in seconds, performing stress-tests for future schedules. The idea is that the system could enable airlines to make informed real-time tradeoff decisions to improve operational logistics. The platform will ensure the best use of each aircraft asset and the interconnections between them, empowering teams to more effectively optimize one of the most complex areas of an airline’s business.

This AI-powered flight schedule optimization solution marks a significant milestone in the journey that began at last year’s UP.Summit. Last year, the two companies announced their partnership and set a vision to solve core strategic challenges for the aviation industry with new companies that help unlock the future in transportation and mobility.

“What sets Odysee apart is its ability to help airline schedulers assess the various tradeoffs that come with certain schedule changes, allowing them to make more informed choices in building comprehensive flight schedules,” says Odysee Chief Executive Officer, Steve Casley. “Our team is excited about the power and efficiency this technology will provide to Alaska Airlines and all future customers and the opportunity to continue building out its functionality.”

Aembit Secures $25M in Series A Funding

Using Wi-FI? Here are three things you need to know about the KRACK in the system

Aembit, a leading non-human identity (NHI) IAM startup, has secured $25 million in Series A funding, bringing the total capital raised to nearly $45 million.

Aembit is a non-human Identity and Access Management (IAM) company focused on developing SaaS solutions to manage all the non-human access steps. That means the use of identity, policy-based, and MFA controls. Their goal is to bring improved cybersecurity to entities, limiting credential theft and loss.

This new funding comes after an increase in cybersecurity attacks including non-human identity attacks on Cloudflare, The New York Times, and Microsoft. NHI refers to the applications, scripts, and bots that businesses routinely use to automate their operations. These NHIs use credentials to communicate with sensitive databases, applications, and infrastructure. When compromised, hackers can access secrets like API keys, access tokens, and more.

Aembit’s solution is aimed at improving management of these NHIs. Leveraging native identities and sophisticated automation, organizations use Aembit to eliminate storage of sensitive secrets within applications or vaults by moving to short-lived access tokens with a no-code auth approach. With Aembit, businesses proactively secure non-human access while eliminating the manual and fragmented work required today by security, engineering, and DevSecOps teams.

Holonym Foundation Secures $5.5M in Seed Funding for Human Keys

rd tax credits

Delaware’s Holonym Foundation has announced a successful $5.5 million seed funding round. The round was led by Finality Capital and Paper Ventures, with participation from Arrington Capital, Draper Dragon, Lightshift and more.

The startup is building the next generation of digital identity security for a decentralized web. The idea? To build the core principles needed to enable citizens with a digital identity to prove their personhood. How? Using cryptography.

Cryptographic keys secure every digital interaction on the internet. Holonym plans to use this premise in a more sophisticated way. Their “Human Keys” approach turns humans into keys rather than creating private keys from random phrases. This new framing shifts ownership of digital assets from the holder of a random seed, to the human that can uniquely prove their biometrics. Human Keys make the ownership layers of the internet built on top more consumer-friendly, decentralized, and secure. Human Keys make the ownership layers of the internet built on top more consumer-friendly, decentralized, and secure.

Shady El Damaty, co-founder of Holonym, says this is just the start for the Holonym Foundation. “Human Keys will redefine how citizens interact with the internet by limiting the overreach of power and hardening individual rights with resilient decentralized protocols built on Zeronym and Mishti Network.”
